Proargi 9 Plus is perfect for a Vegan Diet

Posted on December 12th, 2009

Recently, there has been a renewed interest in vegetarian diets. Today there are countless books, cookbooks, and magazine articles promoting vegetarian diets and providing guidance for those who wish to follow a meatless diet.

Vegans, in addition to being vegetarian, do not use other animal products and by-products such as eggs, dairy products, honey, leather, fur, silk, wool, cosmetics, and soaps derived from animal products. This type of diet may reduce some of the much needed nutrients our bodies need. The key to a nutritionally sound vegan diet is variety. A healthy and varied vegan diet includes fruits, vegetables, plenty of leafy greens, whole grain products, nuts, seeds, and legumes.

Now this is where Proargi 9 Plus may help a great deal. The main product in Proargi 9 Plus is L-arginine which aids in the cardiovascular system and kidney functions. L-arginine is an amino acid our bodies need and we get L-arginine from meats and nuts. With a Vegan diet this amino acid may be reduced. Also Vitamin D is not found in the vegan diet but can be made by humans following exposure to sunlight or you can get 2500 IU in every scoop of Proargi 9 Plus.

Proargi 9 Plus also can provide the much needed boost of B12.

I believe diet and exercise are the best two things a person can do to help with diabetes, but getting all the proper nutrients while dieting can be difficult and may increase other risks. But adding proper supplements to a diet can help tremendously. I want to end this post with a very interesting article about the Vegan diet.

This article can be found on http://www.goveg.com/diabetes.asp

Here is just one part of the article.

According to a study conducted by the University of California and published by Diabetes in Control, patients with type 2 diabetes who followed a low-fat vegetarian diet lost significantly more weight compared to those who followed the American Diabetes Association’s guidelines. Although the patients on the vegetarian diet saw their cholesterol levels drop significantly, the patients who followed the other guidelines actually saw their cholesterol levels increase!4 Several studies have found a link between the consumption of dairy products in childhood and the development of type 1 diabetes. A report by researchers at the Clinical Nutrition & Risk Factor Modification Center at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto stated that diets rich in healthy plant foods cause improved glycemic control, reduced lipid levels, and reduced rates of renal disease. The researchers urged diabetics to substitute “soy or other vegetable proteins for animal protein” and predicted that vegetarianism “will produce very significant metabolic advantages for the prevention and treatment of diabetes and its complications.” 5 And a ground-breaking 2006 study published in the journal Diabetes Care found that 43 percent of people with type 2 diabetes who adhered to a low-fat vegan diet for 22 weeks reduced their need to take medications to manage their disease, compared to only 26 percent of those who followed the diet recommended by the American Diabetes Association.6 One of the study’s researchers stated, “The [low-fat vegan] diet appears remarkably effective, and all the side effects are good ones—especially weight loss and lower cholesterol.”
