Synergy Opens up Sweden

Stewart’s Executive Message

Team Members,

I am writing to you from 35,000 feet above the Atlantic Ocean en route to an important visit with our Scandinavian markets. As part of my responsibilities, I oversee our growing business in Europe where we are launching our newest Synergy market: Sweden. There is much anticipation and excitement for this market that will open up the way for the many Northern Europeans to take advantage of our world class products and business opportunity. We expect this to be a very successful launch that will create the foundation for a long term, stable business.

You may wonder why I am mentioning a European event in my North American Message. Though you, as a North American Team Member, may not be directly affected by the opening of this new European market, my responsibilities of overseeing Europe and North America can relate to you and your business. You see, it is sometimes an overwhelming task to manage these large and growing markets, and I find it difficult to be everywhere and do everything I need to in order to achieve the expected results. I believe many of you struggle with this same sense of responsibility and strain on your time and abilities as you work to direct your organizations and achieve personal and group success. Managing a business is a daunting task; however, the stress and difficulties can be lessened through a concept that is often mentioned but rarely incorporated effectively. That concept is duplication.

In order to be an effective manager, leader, coach, or Team Member, you must set the precedence of action and train your Team Members so that they will possess the same skills you do. Then they can act on your behalf and, in that way, multiply your efforts. You will be most effective as you build a strong team of capable and confident individuals who in essence serve as an extension of you as you all work toward mutual goals. For example, even though I am over 6,000 miles away from corporate headquarters, the Fast Start Training program that I implemented was conducted by a talented and hard working individual who I knew was capable of handling the task. Even though I did not personally conduct the training, I felt confident that my goals and vision were carried on through the efforts of others who were duplicating my methods and plans. We cannot be everywhere at all times. It is important that we find ways and means to create duplicable plans and thereby multiply our efforts.

A great part of network marketing is that it is a team effort. When you create a team of bright, motivated individuals and set up a business plan that includes the following three steps of duplication, you are empowering your group to succeed and you will relieve your personal responsibilities and expand your efforts.

The first step of duplication is to create a system that provides each new Team Member with a road map that will lead them to success if they choose to follow. This system needs to include specific training on our company, products, and business opportunity. Our new Fast Start Training program can give your Team Members this type of training. Whether or not you use this tool, your system needs to be easy to follow but detailed enough to provide effective learning and result in real understanding. Then, as your new Team Members come to understand the core concepts of Synergy, they can duplicate the training and pass it on to their new enrollees. Without some type of system in place you are merely hoping your Team Members will become successful. You cannot afford to hope; you need to proactively ensure they have the knowledge and training necessary to become successful.

Second, you need to focus as much as possible on developing leaders. Not everyone will become a leader in this business and that’s okay. Most will become involved because they love our products and want to experience the health benefits the products provide. Others will desire to work the business part time and have some success. A few will catch the vision and realize that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and will decide to devote a great amount of time and energy to building a strong, stable organization that provides leveraged residual income. These are the leaders that will become the heart of your team. You need to focus on developing these leaders through your communication, motivation and recognition efforts. Look to them for ideas as you create your business plan and make sure they know you appreciate their input. Take on a leadership role within your group while continuing to recognize the contributions, abilities, and success of your group leaders. As you do so, your leaders will follow your lead and step up to the leadership role in their own teams. Developing leaders within your organizations will provide more strength and success than almost any other single thing you can do.

Third and most important, you need to lead by example. The key to duplication is to conduct your business in such a way that, when repeated by your Team Members, can bring them success as well. If you create and incorporate a successful system, your group will too. If you consistently recruit and bring new people into the business, your Team Members will too. They will follow your lead as you hold meetings, conference calls, and other training programs. Don’t expect to see results in others that you have not taught or done yourself. Often times I hear leaders remark that they are too busy “supporting” their groups to be recruiting or holding meetings and trainings. My response is that they are focused on the wrong things and, consequently, growth will not come as quickly. If you want to be successful in this business you must lead by example and be active. There are no shortcuts to success in network marketing. However, if you are willing to pay the price through hard work and focused duplication, the rewards will be greater than you could ever imagine.

If you are committed and establish a firm business plan that includes building your team through duplication, you will climb the ranks and achieve the results you desire.
